Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: In his final years, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) led us one night in the Isha prayer. When he gave the closing salutation, he stood up and said: Have you seen this night of yours? At the end of a hundred years from now, no one of those on the earth will remain. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: People who narrate the hadiths of "a hundred years" have fallen into confusion over it. Rather, he (peace be upon him) said this: None of the people who are present today will remain — that is, this century will come to an end.
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنی آخری عمر میں ایک رات ہمیں عشاء کی نماز پڑھائی۔ جب سلام پھیرا تو کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا کہ تم نے اپنی اس رات کو دیکھا؟ اب سے سو برس کے آخر پر زمین والوں میں سے کوئی نہ رہے گا۔ سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ لوگ جو”سو سال تک“والی احادیث بیان کرتے ہیں اس میں انہیں مغالطہٰ لگا ہے۔ بلکہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے یہ فرمایا کہ آج جو لوگ موجود ہیں ان میں سے کوئی نہ رہے گا یعنی یہ صدی پوری ہو جائے گی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1745]
