Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were in Yemen when news reached us of the departure of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) from Makkah. So we too set out, migrating toward him. There was I and my two brothers — one, Abu Burda, and the other, Abu Ruhm — and I was the younger of them, and fifty-three, or fifty-two, or he said fifty-odd men of my people came with us. Sayyiduna Abu Musa said: We all boarded a ship, and by chance this ship carried us to the Negus, king of the land of Abyssinia. There we met Sayyiduna Ja'far bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions. Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has sent us here and has commanded us to remain here, so you too remain with us. So we stayed with them. Then we all set out together and reached the Prophet (peace be upon him) at the time when he (peace be upon him) had conquered Khaybar. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) allotted us a share from the spoils of war there, and whoever had been absent from the battle of Khaybar was not given a share, except those of our ship. And some people said to us (that is, to the people of the ship): We preceded you in migration. And Sayyida Asma bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) (who had come with us) went to visit the Mother of the Believers, Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her); she too had migrated with the emigrants to the land of the Negus. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Mother of the Believers, Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), while Sayyida Asma bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) was present with her. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), seeing Asma, asked: Who is this? The Mother of the Believers, Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), answered: This is Asma bint Umays. He said: The one who went to the land of Abyssinia and has now come by sea voyage? Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Yes, I am she. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We preceded you in migration, so we have more right to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) than you. At this she grew angry and said: O Umar! By Allah, never! You have spoken falsely. You were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him); he fed the hungry among you and admonished the ignorant among you, while we were in a distant land of enemies, Abyssinia, and all these hardships of ours were in the way of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him). By Allah! Food and drink are forbidden to me until I mention your words to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). We were harmed and were in constant fear. Soon I will mention it to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and ask him, and by Allah, I will not lie, nor will I deviate, nor will I add anything more than that. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came, Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him)! Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said such and such. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: No one has more right to me than you. Because Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions made one migration, while you people of the ship made two migrations (one from Makkah to Abyssinia and the other from Abyssinia to the blessed Madinah). Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Musa and the people of the ship coming to me in groups after groups and listening to this hadith. And nothing in the world was more joyful or greater to them than this saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Abu Burda said: Asma said: I saw Abu Musa wanting to hear this hadith from me again and again (for joy).Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were in Yemen when news reached us of the departure of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) from Makkah. الترجمة الأردية

سیدنا ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم یمن میں تھے کہ ہمیں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے مکہ سے نکلنے کی خبر پہنچی۔ پس ہم بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی طرف ہجرت کر کے روانہ ہوئے۔ میں اور میرے دو بھائی ایک ابوبردہ اور دوسرے ابورہم تھے، میں ان سے چھوٹا تھا اور ترپن یا باون یا کہا کہ پچاس سے کچھ اوپر آدمی میری قوم میں سے ہمارے ساتھ آئے۔ سیدنا ابوموسیٰ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سب جہاز میں سوار ہوئے۔ اتفاق سے یہ جہاز ہمیں حبش کے ملک نجاشی بادشاہ کے پاس لے گیا۔ وہاں ہمیں سیدنا جعفر رضی اللہ عنہ بن ابی طالب اور ان کے ساتھی ملے۔ سیدنا جعفر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہمیں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے یہاں بھیجا ہے اور ہمیں یہاں ٹھہرنے کا حکم کیا ہے، پس تم بھی ہمارے ساتھ ٹھہرو۔ پس ہم نے ان کے پاس قیام کیا۔ پھر ہم سب اکٹھے روانہ ہوئے اور ہم نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس اس وقت پہنچے جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمخیبر فتح کر چکے تھے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے وہاں کے مال غنیمت سے ہمارا حصہ لگایا اور خیبر کی لڑائی سے جو شخص غائب تھا، اس کو حصہ نہ ملا سوائے ہماری کشتی والوں کے۔ اور بعض لوگ ہمیں (یعنی اہل سفینہ سے) کہنے لگے کہ ہجرت میں ہم لوگ تم پر سبقت لے گئے ہیں۔ اور سیدہ اسماء بنت عمیس رضی اللہ عنہا (جو ہمارے ساتھ آئی تھیں) ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے ملنے کو گئیں اور انہوں نے بھی نجاشی کے ملک میں مہاجرین کے ساتھ ہجرت کی تھی۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس آئے اور سیدہ اسماء بنت عمیس رضی اللہ عنہا ان کے پاس موجود تھیں۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا کو دیکھ کر پوچھا کہ یہ کون ہے؟ ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے جواب دیا کہ یہ اسماء بنت عمیس ہے۔ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ جو حبش کے ملک میں گئی تھیں اور اب سمندر کا سفر کر کے آئی ہیں؟ اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا بولیں جی ہاں میں وہی ہوں۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہم ہجرت میں تم سے سبقت لے گئے، لہٰذا رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپر تم سے زیادہ ہمارا حق ہے۔ یہ سن کر انہیں غصہ آ گیا اور کہنے لگیں”اے عمر! اللہ کی قسم ہرگز نہیں، تم نے جھوٹ کہا۔ تم تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس موجود تھے، تم میں سے بھوکے کو کھانا کھلاتے اور تمہارے جاہل کو نصیحت کرتے تھے اور ہم ایک دور دراز دشمنوں کی زمین حبشہ میں تھے، اور ہماری یہ سب تکالیف اللہ اور اس کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی راہ میں تھیں۔ اللہ کی قسم! مجھ پر اس وقت تک کھانا پینا حرام ہے جب تک رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے تمہاری بات کا ذکر نہ کر لوں اور ہم کو ایذا دی جاتی تھی اور ہمیں ہر وقت خوف رہتا تھا۔ عنقریب میں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ذکر کروں گی، ان سے پوچھوں گی اور اللہ کی قسم نہ میں جھوٹ بولوں گی، نہ میں کجروی کروں گی اور نہ میں اس سے زیادہ کہوں گی“۔ جب نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتشریف لائے تو سیدہ اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا نے عرض کیا کہ یا نبی اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! اللہ کی قسم ہرگز نہیں، تم نے جھوٹ کہا۔ تم تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس موجود تھے، تم میں سے بھوکے کو کھانا کھلاتے اور تمہارے جاہل کو نصیحت کرتے تھے اور ہم ایک دور دراز دشمنوں کی زمین حبشہ میں تھے، اور ہماری یہ سب تکالیف اللہ اور اس کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی راہ میں تھیں۔ اللہ کی قسم! مجھ پر اس وقت تک کھانا پینا حرام ہے جب تک رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے تمہاری بات کا ذکر نہ کر لوں اور ہم کو ایذا دی جاتی تھی اور ہمیں ہر وقت خوف رہتا تھا۔ عنقریب میں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ذکر کروں گی، ان سے پوچھوں گی اور اللہ کی قسم نہ میں جھوٹ بولوں گی، نہ میں کجروی کروں گی اور نہ میں اس سے زیادہ کہوں گی“۔ جب نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتشریف لائے تو سیدہ اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا نے عرض کیا کہ یا نبی اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس اس طرح کہا ہے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم سے زیادہ کسی کا حق نہیں ہے۔ کیونکہ عمر (رضی اللہ عنہ) اور ان کے ساتھیوں کی ایک ہجرت ہے اور تم کشتی والوں کی تو دو ہجرتیں ہوئیں (ایک مکہ سے حبش کو اور دوسری حبش سے مدینہ طیبہ کو)۔ سیدہ اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ میں نے سیدنا ابوموسیٰ اور کشتی والوں کو دیکھا کہ وہ گروہ در گروہ میرے پاس آتے اور اس حدیث کو سنتے تھے۔ اور دنیا میں کوئی چیز ان کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے اس فرمان سے زیادہ خوشی کی نہ تھی نہ اتنی بڑی تھی۔ سیدنا ابوبردہ نے کہا کہ سیدہ اسماء نے کہا کہ میں نے ابوموسیٰ کو دیکھا کہ وہ مجھ سے اس حدیث کو (خوشی کے لئے) باربار سننا چاہتے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1687]
