Abu Uthman narrates from Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: If you can, do not be the first to enter the marketplace, nor the last to leave it, for the marketplace is the battlefield of Satan and it is there that he plants his banner. He said: I was informed that Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) while the Mother of the Believers, Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), was with him. Gabriel (peace be upon him) began speaking with him, then stood up (that is, he left). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked her: Who was that man? She said: He was Dihya al-Kalbi. The Mother of the Believers, Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), said: By Allah, we took him to be none other than Dihya al-Kalbi, until I heard the Messenger of Allah's (peace be upon him) sermon in which he related our story. I (the narrator of the hadith) said: I asked Abu Uthman: From whom did you hear this hadith? He said: From Sayyiduna Usama bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him).
الترجمة الأردية
ابوعثمان، سیدنا سلمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہانہوں نے کہا کہ اگر ہو سکے تو سب سے پہلے بازار میں مت جا اور نہ سب کے بعد وہاں سے نکل، کیونکہ بازار شیطان کا میدان جنگ ہے اور وہیں وہ اپنا جھنڈا گاڑتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا مجھے خبر دی گئی کہ جبرائیل علیہ السلام رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا تھیں۔ جبرائیل علیہ السلام آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے باتیں کرنے لگے، پھر کھڑے ہوئے (یعنی چلے گئے) تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان سے پوچھا کہ یہ کون شخص تھے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ دحیہ کلبی تھے۔ ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم ہم تو انہیں دحیہ کلبی ہی سمجھے، یہاں تک کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا خطبہ سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہماری خبر بیان کرتے تھے۔ میں (راوی حدیث) نے کہا کہ میں نے ابوعثمان سے پوچھا کہ یہ حدیث آپ نے کس سے سنی؟ تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ سیدنا اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ سے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1676]
