Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): Musa (peace be upon him) was a man of great modesty; no one had ever seen him naked. At last the Children of Israel began to say that he had a defect (that his testicles were swollen). Once he bathed at some watering place and placed his garment on a stone, and it ran off with it. Musa (peace be upon him) ran after it with his staff, striking it and saying, "O stone, give me my garment," until the stone stopped where the people of the Children of Israel were gathered. And concerning this the verse was revealed: "O you who believe, do not be like those who abused Musa (peace be upon him) (slandered him); then Allah cleared him of what they had said, and he was honorable in the sight of Allah." الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہموسیٰ علیہ السلام بڑے حیادار مرد تھے، ان کو کبھی کسی نے ننگا نہیں دیکھا تھا۔ آخر بنی اسرائیل کہنے لگے کہ ان کو فتق (خصیئے پھول جانے) کی بیماری ہے۔ ایک بار انہوں نے کسی پانی کے مقام پر غسل کیا اور اپنا کپڑا پتھر پر رکھا، تو وہ بھاگتا ہوا چلا اور سیدنا موسیٰ علیہ السلام اپنا عصا لئے اس کے پیچھے چلے، اس کو مارتے جاتے تھے اور فرماتے جاتے تھے کہ اے پتھر! میرا کپڑا دے۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ پتھر جہاں بنی اسرائیل کے لوگ جمع تھے وہاں جا رکا۔ اور اسی کے متعلق یہ آیت اتری کہ”اے ایمان والو! تم ان لوگوں کی طرح مت ہو جنہوں نے موسیٰ علیہ السلام کو ستایا (ان پر تہمت لگائی) پھر اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کو اس بات سے پاک کیا جو لوگوں نے کہی تھی اور وہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک عزت والے تھے“۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1610]
