Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! How are the vessels of the Pond?" He (peace be upon him) said, "By the One in whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace be upon him), the vessels of this Pond are more than the stars of the sky and its stars on a dark, cloudless night. They are the vessels of Paradise. Whoever drinks (water) from this Pond will never thirst again (that is, until entering Paradise). Into this Pond flow two channels from Paradise; whoever drinks from it will not thirst, and its length and breadth are equal, as much as the distance from Aylah to Amman (both of these are cities of Syria). Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey."

سیدنا ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے کہا کہیا رسول اللہ! حوض کے برتن کیسے ہیں؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ قسم اس کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کی جان ہے، اس حوض کے برتن آسمان کے تاروں سے زیادہ ہیں اور رات وہ جو اندھیری بے بدلی کے ہو۔ وہ جنت کے برتن ہیں۔ جو اس حوض سے (پانی) پی لے گا، وہ پھر ہمیشہ تک کبھی پیاسا نہ ہو گا، (یعنی جنت میں جانے تک) اس حوض میں جنت کے دو پرنالے بہتے ہیں، جو اس میں سے پیئے گا وہ پیاسا نہ ہو گا اور اس کا طول اور عرض برابر ہے جتنا فاصلہ ایلہ سے عمان تک ہے (یہ دونوں شام کے شہر ہیں) اس کا پانی دودھ سے زیادہ سفید اور شہد سے زیادہ میٹھا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1553]
