It is narrated from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): The People of the Suffah were needy people, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) once said, "Whoever has food for two, let him take a third; and whoever has for four, let him take a fifth or a sixth." And Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) brought three men, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) took ten men (his (peace be upon him) household too was about ten, so as though half the food was for the guests). Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In our house there was no one except my father and my mother. The narrator said: Perhaps he also mentioned his wife, and a servant who was in my and Abu Bakr's (may Allah be pleased with him) house. Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) ate the evening meal with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), then stayed there until the Isha prayer was prayed. Then, after finishing the prayer, he returned to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and stayed until he (peace be upon him) slept. In short, after much of the night had passed, as much as Allah the Exalted willed, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came home, and his wife said, "Where did you remain, leaving your guests?" Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Did you not feed them?" She said, "The guests did not eat until you came," and she had set food before the guests, but the guests overpowered them in not eating. Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I (out of fear of Abu Bakr's (may Allah be pleased with him) displeasure) hid myself, and he called me, "O lazy dullard" or "fool! May your nose be cut off," and he reviled me and said to the guests, "Eat, even though this food is not pleasant (because it is untimely)." And Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "By Allah, I will never eat it." Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, whatever morsel we took, the food beneath it would increase by that much, until we were satisfied, and the food became more than it had been before. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) looked at the food and saw that it was as much as, or more than, before, so he said to his wife, "O sister of Banu Firas (her name was Umm Ruman and Banu Firas was her tribe), what is this?" She said, "By the coolness of my eyes (that is, by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)), it is more than before by three times." (This was a karamah of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). From this hadith it is known that karamah can be manifested through the awliya.) Then Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) ate from it and said, "The oath I had sworn was (in anger) from Satan." Then he ate a morsel of it, after which he took that food to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I too was there in the morning, and between us and a certain people there was a covenant (that is, a pact of peace), and the term of the pact passed, so he (peace be upon him) appointed twelve men as our officers, and with each were men, and Allah the Exalted knows how many men were with each. الترجمة الأردية

سیدنا عبدالرحمن بن ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہاصحاب صفہ محتاج لوگ تھے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک بار فرمایا کہ جس کے پاس دو آدمیوں کا کھانا ہو وہ تین کو لے جائے۔ اور جس کے پاس چار کا ہو وہ پانچویں یا چھٹے کو بھی لے جائے اور سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ تین آدمیوں کو لے آئے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمدس آدمیوں کو لے گئے (آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے اہل و عیال بھی دس کے قریب تھے تو گویا آدھا کھانا مہمانوں کے لئے ہوا)۔ سیدنا عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہمارے گھر میں کوئی نہیں تھا سوائے میرے باپ اور میری ماں کے۔ راوی نے کہا کہ شاید اپنی بیوی کا بھی کہا اور ایک خادم جو میرے اور سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے گھر میں تھا۔ سیدنا عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے رات کا کھانا رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ کھایا، پھر وہیں ٹھہرے رہے یہاں تک کہ عشاء کی نماز پڑھی گئی۔ پھر نماز سے فارغ ہو کر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس لوٹ گئے اور وہیں رہے، یہاں تک کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسو گئے۔ غرض بڑی رات گزرنے کے بعد جتنی اللہ تعالیٰ کو منظور تھی سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ گھر آئے اور ان کی بیوی نے کہا کہ تم اپنے مہمانوں کو چھوڑ کر کہاں رہ گئے تھے؟ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ تم نے ان کو کھانا نہیں کھلایا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ مہمانوں نے تمہارے آنے تک نہیں کھایا اور انہوں نے مہمانوں کے سامنے کھانا پیش کیا تھا لیکن مہمان ان پر نہ کھانے میں غالب ہوئے۔ سیدنا عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں تو (سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کی ناراضگی کے ڈر سے) چھپ گیا تو انہوں نے مجھے پکارا کہ اے سست مجہول یا احمق! تیری ناک کٹے اور مجھے برا کہا اور مہمانوں سے کہا کہ کھاؤ اگرچہ یہ کھانا خوشگوار نہیں ہے (کیونکہ بے وقت ہے)۔ اور سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں اللہ کی قسم میں اس کو کبھی بھی نہ کھاؤں گا۔ سیدنا عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم ہم جو لقمہ اٹھاتے نیچے وہ کھانا اتنا ہی بڑھ جاتا، یہاں تک کہ ہم سیر ہو گئے اور کھانا جتنا پہلے تھا اس سے بھی زیادہ ہو گیا۔ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کھانے کو دیکھا کہ وہ اتنا ہی ہے یا زیادہ ہو گیا ہے تو انہوں نے اپنی عورت سے کہا کہ اے بنی فراس کی بہن (ان کا نام ام رومان تھا اور بنی فراس ان کا قبیلہ تھا) یہ کیا ہے؟ وہ بولی کہ میری آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک کی قسم (یعنی رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی) کہ یہ تو پہلے سے بھی زیادہ ہے تین حصے زیادہ ہے (یہ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کی کرامت تھی۔ اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوا کہ اولیاء سے کرامت ظاہر ہو سکتی ہے)۔ پھر سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس میں سے کھایا اور کہا کہ میں نے جو قسم کھائی تھی وہ (غصے میں) شیطان کی طرف سے تھی۔ پھر ایک لقمہ اس میں سے کھایا، اس کے بعد وہ کھانا رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس لے گئے۔ میں بھی صبح کو وہیں تھا اور ہمارے اور ایک قوم کے درمیان عقد تھا (یعنی صلح کا اقرار تھا)، پس اقرار کی مدت گزر گئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بارہ آدمی ہمارے افسر کئے اور ہر ایک کے ساتھ لوگ تھے اور اللہ تعالیٰ جانتا ہے کہ ہر ایک کے ساتھ کتنے لوگ تھے۔ پھر وہ کھانا ان کے ساتھ کر دیا اور سب لوگوں نے اس میں سے کھایا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1534]سیدنا عبدالرحمن بن ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہاصحاب صفہ محتاج لوگ تھے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک بار فرمایا کہ جس کے پاس دو آدمیوں کا کھانا ہو وہ تین کو لے جائے۔ اور جس کے پاس چار کا ہو وہ پانچویں یا چھٹے کو بھی لے جائے اور سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ تین آدمیوں کو لے آئے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمدس آدمیوں کو لے گئے (آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے اہل و عیال بھی دس کے قریب تھے تو گویا آدھا کھانا مہمانوں کے لئے ہوا)۔ سیدنا عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہمارے گھر میں کوئی نہیں تھا سوائے میرے باپ اور میری ماں کے۔ راوی نے کہا کہ شاید اپنی بیوی کا بھی کہا اور ایک خادم جو میرے اور سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے گھر میں تھا۔ سیدنا عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے رات کا کھانا رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ کھایا، پھر وہیں ٹھہرے رہے یہاں تک کہ عشاء کی نماز پڑھی گئی۔ پھر نماز سے فارغ ہو کر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس لوٹ گئے اور وہیں رہے، یہاں تک کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسو گئے۔ غرض بڑی رات گزرنے کے بعد جتنی اللہ تعالیٰ کو منظور تھی سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ گھر آئے اور ان کی بیوی نے کہا کہ تم اپنے مہمانوں کو چھوڑ کر کہاں رہ گئے تھے؟ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ تم نے ان کو کھانا نہیں کھلایا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ مہمانوں نے تمہارے آنے تک نہیں کھایا اور انہوں نے مہمانوں کے سامنے کھانا پیش کیا تھا لیکن مہمان ان پر نہ کھانے میں غالب ہوئے۔ سیدنا عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں تو (سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کی ناراضگی کے ڈر سے) چھپ گیا تو انہوں نے مجھے پکارا کہ اے سست مجہول یا احمق!
