Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): On the day of Uhud (when the disbelievers gained the upper hand and the Muslims were overcome), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was left alone; seven men of the Ansar and two of Quraysh remained with him (peace be upon him), and the disbelievers pressed upon him (peace be upon him). So he (peace be upon him) said, "Who will turn them back? He will have Paradise," or "he will have my companionship in Paradise." An Ansari advanced and fought until he was martyred. Then (the disbelievers) pressed again, and he (peace be upon him) said, "Who will drive them back? He will have Paradise," or "he will be my companion in Paradise." Another Ansari advanced and fought until he was martyred. Then it continued thus until all seven Ansar were martyred. (Glory be to Allah! What devotion and loyalty the Ansar had! From this one should understand the rank and station of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.) Then he (peace be upon him) said, "We did not do justice to our companions" (or "our companions did not do justice to us") (in the first case the meaning would be: they did not do justice, that is, the Quraysh remained seated while the Ansar were martyred — the Quraysh too should have gone out; in the second case the meaning would be: our companions who fled to save their lives did not do justice, that their brothers were martyred while they were concerned to save themselves). الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماحد کے دن (جب کافروں کا غلبہ ہوا اور مسلمان مغلوب ہو گئے) اکیلے رہ گئے سات آدمی انصار کے اور دو قریش کے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس رہ گئے تھے اور کافروں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپر ہجوم کیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ان کو کون پھیرتا ہے؟ اس کو جنت ملے گی یا جنت میں میری رفاقت ملے گی۔ ایک انصاری آگے بڑھا اور لڑتا ہوا شہید ہو گیا۔ (کفار نے) پھر ہجوم کیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کون ان کو لوٹاتا ہے؟ اس کو جنت ملے گی یا وہ جنت میں میرا رفیق ہو گا۔ ایک اور انصاری آگے بڑھا اور لڑتا ہوا شہید ہو گیا۔ پھر یہی حال رہا یہاں تک کہ ساتوں انصاری شہید ہو گئے۔ (سبحان اللہ انصار کی جانثاری اور وفاداری کیسی تھی یہاں سے اصحاب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا درجہ اور مرتبہ سمجھ لینا چاہئے) تب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہم نے اپنے اصحاب کے ساتھ انصاف نہ کیا (یا ہمارے اصحاب نے ہمارے ساتھ انصاف نہ کیا) (پہلی صورت میں یہ مطلب ہو گا کہ انصاف نہ کیا یعنی قریش بیٹھے رہے اور انصار شہید ہو گئے قریش کو بھی نکلنا تھا دوسری صورت میں یہ معنی ہوں گے ہمارے اصحاب جو جان بچا کر بھاگ گئے انہوں نے انصاف نہ کیا کہ ان کے بھائی شہید ہوئے اور وہ اپنے آپ کو بچانے کی فکر میں رہے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1161]
