Narrated the Mother of the Believers, Aishah the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her): On the day of the Trench (the Battle of the Trench), Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was struck by an arrow from a man of Quraysh named Ibn al-Arifah (this is his mother's name), which pierced his akhal (a vein). So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) pitched a tent for him in the mosque (from this it is known that sleeping in the mosque and a sick person staying there is permissible), so that he could inquire after him from nearby. When he (peace be upon him) returned from the Trench and laid down his weapons and performed a bath, Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to him (peace be upon him), shaking the dust from his head, and said, "You have laid down your weapons? But by Allah, we have not laid down our weapons. Go out to them." He (peace be upon him) asked, "To where?" He pointed toward Banu Qurayzah. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fought them, and they came down from their fortress, agreeing to accept his (peace be upon him) judgment, and he (peace be upon him) referred their judgment to Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) (because they were his allies). Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I rule that the fighters among them be killed, the children and women be taken captive, and their property be divided." Hisham heard from his father (Urwah), who said: I was informed that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), "You have given, concerning Banu Qurayzah, the very judgment that was the command of Allah, Mighty and Majestic." In one narration it is that he (peace be upon him) said, "You have judged according to the judgment of Allah," and once he said thus: "You have judged according to the judgment of the King." ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہسعد بن معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ کو خندق (غزوہ خندق) کے دن ایک جو قریش کے ایک شخص ابن العرفہ (اس کی ماں کا نام ہے) نے ایک تیر مارا جو ان کی اکحل (ایک رگ) میں لگا، تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کے لئے مسجد میں ایک خیمہ لگا دیا (اس سے معلوم ہوا کہ مسجد میں سونا اور بیمار کا رہنا درست ہے) تاکہ نزدیک سے ان کو پوچھ لیا کریں۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمخندق سے لوٹے اور ہتھیار رکھ کر غسل کیا تو پھر جبرائیل علیہ السلام آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس اپنا سر غبار سے جھاڑتے ہوئے آئے اور کہا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ہتھیار اتار ڈالے؟ اور ہم نے تو اللہ کی قسم ہتھیار نہیں رکھے۔ چلو ان کی طرف۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پوچھا کہ کدھر؟ انہوں نے بنی قریظہ کی طرف اشارہ کیا۔ پھر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمان سے لڑے اور وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے فیصلہ پر راضی ہو کر قلعہ سے نیچے اترے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کا فیصلہ سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ پر رکھا (کیونکہ وہ سیدنا سعد کے حلیف تھے)۔ سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں یہ حکم کرتا ہوں کہ ان میں جو لڑنے والے ہیں وہ تو مار دئیے جائیں اور بچے اور عورتیں قیدی بنائے جائیں اور ان کے مال تقسیم کر لئے جائیں۔ ہشام نے اپنے والد (عروہ) سے سنا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھے خبر پہنچی کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے فرمایا کہ تو نے بنی قریظہ کے بارے میں وہ حکم دیا جو اللہ عزوجل کا حکم تھا۔ ایک روایت میں ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تو نے اللہ کے حکم پر فیصلہ کیا اور ایک دفعہ یوں فرمایا کہ بادشاہ کے حکم پر فیصلہ کیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1155]
