Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah the Exalted guarantees for the one who goes out in His way — and does not go out except for jihad, and believes in Allah and holds His messengers to be true — (Allah the Exalted said:) such a person is under My protection; either I will admit him into Paradise, or I will return him to his home with reward and spoils of war. By Him in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace be upon him), no wound is received in the way of Allah the Exalted but that its bearer will come on the Day of Resurrection in the very form it had in the world: its color will be that of blood and its fragrance that of musk. By Him in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace be upon him), were it not too difficult for the Muslims, I would never stay behind from any expedition that goes to fight in the way of Allah the Exalted. But I do not have enough (mounts and the like), nor do the Muslims have the means (of mounts and the like), and my going would make it hard for the Muslims to remain behind. By Him in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace be upon him), I wish that I could fight in the way of Allah the Exalted and be killed, then fight and be killed, then fight and be killed." الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ اس کا ضامن ہے جو اس کی راہ میں نکلے اور نہ نکلے مگر جہاد کے لئے اور اللہ تعالیٰ پر ایمان رکھتا ہو اور اس کے پیغمبروں کو سچ جانتا ہو۔ (اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ) ایسا شخص میری حفاظت میں ہے یا تو میں اس کو جنت میں لے جاؤں گا یا اس کو اس کے گھر کی طرف ثواب اور مال غنیمت کے ساتھ پھیر دوں گا۔ قسم اس کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کی جان ہے کہ کوئی زخم ایسا نہیں جو اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ میں لگے، مگر یہ کہ وہ قیامت کے دن اسی شکل پر آئے گا جیسا دنیا میں ہوا تھا، اس کا رنگ خون کا سا ہو گا اور خوشبو مشک کی۔ قسم اس کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کی جان ہے کہ اگر مسلمانوں پر دشوار نہ ہوتا تو میں کبھی بھی کسی لشکر سے جو اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ میں جہاد کرتا ہے پیچھے نہ رہتا۔ لیکن میرے پاس (سواریوں وغیرہ کی) اتنی گنجائش نہیں ہے اور نہ مسلمانوں کے پاس (سواریوں وغیرہ کی) وسعت ہے اور میرے جانے کی صورت میں مسلمانوں کو پیچھے رہنا دشوار ہو گا۔ قسم اس کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کی جان ہے کہ میں یہ چاہتا ہوں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ میں جہاد کروں پھر مارا جاؤں پھر جہاد کروں پھر مارا جاؤں پھر جہاد کروں پھر مارا جاؤں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1070]
