حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنِ الأَزْرَقِ، - قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الأَزْرَقُ، - حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَهُ عَنْ وَقْتِ الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ " صَلِّ مَعَنَا هَذَيْنِ " . يَعْنِي الْيَوْمَيْنِ فَلَمَّا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَمَرَ بِلاَلاً فَأَذَّنَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ بَيْضَاءُ نَقِيَّةٌ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْمَغْرِبَ حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْعِشَاءَ حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْفَجْرَ حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ فَلَمَّا أَنْ كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الثَّانِي أَمَرَهُ فَأَبْرَدَ بِالظُّهْرِ فَأَبْرَدَ بِهَا فَأَنْعَمَ أَنْ يُبْرِدَ بِهَا وَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ أَخَّرَهَا فَوْقَ الَّذِي كَانَ وَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ وَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ بَعْدَ مَا ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ وَصَلَّى الْفَجْرَ فَأَسْفَرَ بِهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ " أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ الصَّلاَةِ " . فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ " وَقْتُ صَلاَتِكُمْ بَيْنَ مَا رَأَيْتُمْ " .

Hadrat Zuhair ibn Harb and 'Ubaidullah ibn Sa'id both narrated from al-Azraq — Zuhair said: Ishaq ibn Yusuf al-Azraq narrated to us — he said: Sufyan narrated to us from 'Alqamah ibn Marthad, who narrated from Sulaiman ibn Buraidah, who narrated from his father (Hadrat Buraidah, may Allah be well pleased with him) that a man asked the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) about the time of prayer. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to him: 'Pray with us these two days.' When the sun declined, he commanded Hadrat Bilal (may Allah be well pleased with him), and he called the adhan. Then he commanded him and the iqamah for Zuhr was pronounced. Then he commanded him and the iqamah for 'Asr was pronounced while the sun was high, white, and clear. Then he commanded him and the iqamah for Maghrib was pronounced when the sun had set. Then he commanded him and the iqamah for 'Isha was pronounced when the twilight had disappeared. Then he commanded him and the iqamah for Fajr was pronounced when dawn appeared. On the second day, he commanded him to delay Zuhr until the cool time, and he delayed it well into the cool time. He prayed 'Asr while the sun was still high, but delayed it beyond the previous day. He prayed Maghrib before the twilight disappeared. He prayed 'Isha after a third of the night had passed. He prayed Fajr when there was clear daylight. Then he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Where is the one who asked about the time of prayer?' The man submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), here I am. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'The time for your prayers is between what you have seen.'
الترجمة الأردية
زہیر بن حرب اور عبید اللہ بن سعید دونوں نے ازرق سے روایت کی — زہیر نے کہا ہمیں اسحاق بن یوسف ازرق نے حدیث سنائی — کہا ہمیں سفیان نے علقمہ بن مرثد سے حدیث سنائی، انہوں نے سلیمان بن بریدہ سے اور انہوں نے اپنے والد (حضرت بریدہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) سے روایت کی کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے ایک شخص نے نماز کا وقت پوچھا تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ''تم دو روز ہمارے ساتھ نماز پڑھو۔'' پھر جب سورج ڈھلا تو آپ نے حضرت بلال رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو حکم دیا، انہوں نے اذان دی، پھر آپ نے انہیں حکم دیا تو انہوں نے ظہر کی اقامت کہی، پھر انہیں حکم دیا تو انہوں نے عصر کی اقامت کہی اور سورج بلند، سفید اور صاف تھا، پھر انہیں حکم دیا تو انہوں نے مغرب کی اقامت کہی جب سورج غروب ہوا، پھر انہیں حکم دیا تو انہوں نے عشاء کی اقامت کہی جب شفق غائب ہوئی، پھر انہیں حکم دیا تو انہوں نے فجر کی اقامت کہی جب فجر طلوع ہوئی۔ پھر جب دوسرا دن ہوا تو آپ نے انہیں حکم دیا کہ ظہر ٹھنڈے وقت پڑھیں، چنانچہ انہوں نے خوب ٹھنڈے وقت پڑھائی اور عصر کی نماز پڑھی جبکہ سورج بلند تھا، مگر پہلے دن سے کچھ تاخیر کی، اور مغرب شفق غائب ہونے سے پہلے پڑھائی، اور عشاء رات کی تہائی گزرنے کے بعد پڑھائی، اور فجر پڑھی جب خوب روشنی ہو گئی۔ پھر فرمایا: ''وہ سائل کہاں ہے جو نماز کا وقت پوچھتا تھا؟'' اس شخص نے عرض کیا: اے اللہ کے رسول! میں حاضر ہوں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ''تمہاری نمازوں کا وقت ان دونوں (وقتوں) کے درمیان ہے جو تم نے دیکھے۔''
