Jabir reported that on the day of the Trench, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was digging and I saw that he was extremely hungry. I went to my wife and said: "Do you have anything? I saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is extremely hungry." She brought out a bag that contained a sa' of barley, and we had a domestic she-goat. I slaughtered the goat and she ground the barley. She finished at the same time I finished. I cut the meat into pieces and put it in the pot. Then I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and she said: "Do not embarrass me before the Messenger of Allah and those with him." When I came to him, I whispered to him: "O Messenger of Allah, we have slaughtered our small goat and ground a sa' of barley. Please come with a few people." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) called out: "O people of the Trench! Jabir has prepared a meal for you, so come along!" Then he said to me: "Do not remove the pot from the fire and do not bake the bread until I come." When he came, I brought out the dough and he spat in it and blessed it, then he went to the pot, spat in it and blessed it. Then he said: "Call the baker to bake with you, and ladle from the pot without removing it from the fire." They were one thousand people. By Allah, they all ate until they left it and walked away, while our pot was still bubbling as before and our dough was being baked as before. Agreed upon.
