Hadrat 'A'ishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrated: When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) became seriously ill and his pain intensified, he asked permission from his wives to be nursed in my house, and they gave him permission. The Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came out between two men - one of them was Hadrat 'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) - with his feet dragging on the ground. 'Ubaydullah said: I mentioned this to Ibn 'Abbas, and he said: "Do you know who the other man was?" I said: "No." He said: "He was Hadrat 'Ali (may Allah ennoble his countenance)." And Hadrat 'A'ishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: When the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) entered and his illness intensified, he stated: "Pour seven skins of water over me from seven different wells that have not been opened, so that I may go out to the people and instruct them." So we seated him in a basin belonging to Hadrat Hafsah (may Allah be well pleased with her), the wife of the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and we poured water over him until he began to gesture to us: "You have done enough, you have done enough." Then he went out to the people.
