أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَوَّامُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «تَدُورُ رَحَى الْإِسْلَامِ عَلَى خَمْسٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ أَوْ سِتٍّ وَثَلَاثِينَ فَإِنْ هَلَكُوا فَسَبِيلُ مَنْ هَلَكَ وَإِنْ بَقُوا بَقِيَ لَهُمْ دِينُهُمْ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً»

Al-Fadl ibn al-Hubab informed us, Musaddad ibn Musarhad narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, al-Awwam ibn Hawshab informed us from Sulayman ibn Abi Sulayman from al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Rahman from his father from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "The millstone of Islam will turn for thirty-five or thirty-six (years). If they perish, then the path of those who perished. And if they remain, their religion will remain for them for seventy years."
