أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ عَنْ فِطْرِ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّ قَوْمَكَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَمَلَ وَأَنَّهُ سُنَّةٌ فَقَالَ كَذَبُوا وَصَدَقُوا «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمَّا دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ عَلَى قُعَيْقِعَانَ فَتَحَدَّثُوا أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ وَأَصْحَابَهُ هَزْلَى فَرَمَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ فَرَمَلُوا وَلَيْسَتْ بِسُنَّةٍ»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated through Abu al-Tufayl, who said: I said to Ibn Abbas: 'Your people claim that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) performed raml and that it is a Sunnah.' He said: 'They have spoken falsely and spoken the truth.' He then said: «Indeed, when the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) entered Makkah and the polytheists were at Qu'ayqi'an, they had been saying that Muhammad and his Companions were emaciated. So the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) performed raml and ordered his Companions to perform raml, but it is not an established Sunnah.»
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے ابو الطفیل کے واسطے سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے ابن عباس سے کہا: آپ کی قوم کا دعویٰ ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے رمل کیا اور یہ سنت ہے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: انہوں نے جھوٹ بھی کہا اور سچ بھی۔ پھر فرمایا: «بے شک رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب مکہ میں داخل ہوئے اور مشرکین قعیقعان پر تھے اور انہوں نے بات چلائی تھی کہ محمد اور ان کے صحابہ لاغر ہیں۔ تو رسول اللہ نے رمل فرمایا اور اپنے صحابہ کو رمل کا حکم دیا لیکن یہ مستقل سنت نہیں ہے۔»
