Al-Hasan ibn Sufyan informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Abi Umar narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Hassan narrated to us from Sulayman ibn Bilal from Rabi'ah ibn Abi Abd al-Rahman from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Halhala al-Dawsi from Ma'dan ibn Abi Talhah that Umar ibn al-Khattab asked about the testimony 'There is no deity except Allah' from the pulpit, so Abu Dharr said to him: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Jibril came to me and gave me the glad tidings that whoever from my nation dies not associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise.' I said: Even if he committed adultery and even if he stole? He said: 'Even if he committed adultery and even if he stole.'
