Abu Humayd al-Sa'idi, Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi, Sahl ibn Sa'd, and Muhammad ibn Maslamah gathered and mentioned the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Abu Humayd said: 'I know best among you the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Indeed, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood and said the takbir and raised his hands, then raised his hands when he said the takbir for bowing. Then he bowed and placed his hands on his knees as if grasping them, tensing his hands and moving them away from his sides. He did not lower his head nor raise it. Then he stood and raised his hands and straightened until every limb returned to its place. Then he prostrated, placing his nose and forehead firmly, and moved his hands away from his sides, placing his palms level with his shoulders. Then he raised his head until every limb returned to its place. Then he sat, spreading his left foot and turning the front of his right toward his Qiblah, placing his right palm on his right knee and his left palm on his left knee, and pointed with his index finger.'
