Abdul-Jabbar ibn Wa'il ibn Hujr said: I was a boy and did not comprehend my father's prayer, so Wa'il ibn 'Alqamah narrated to me from Wa'il ibn Hujr, who said: 'I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When he entered the row, he raised his hands and said the takbir, then wrapped himself and put his hand into his garment, taking his left with his right. When he intended to bow, he brought out his hands and raised them and said the takbir, then bowed. When he raised his head from bowing, he raised his hands and said the takbir, then prostrated and placed his face between his palms.' Ibn Juhadah said: I mentioned that to al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Hasan, and he said: 'That is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) - whoever does it, does it; whoever leaves it, leaves it.'
