Abu al-Minhal narrated: My father and I went and entered upon Abu Barzah. My father said to him: 'Tell us how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the obligatory prayers.' He said: 'He used to pray the midday prayer - which you call the first - when the sun declined, and he would pray Asr, then one of us would return to his dwelling at the far end of Madinah.' He said: I forgot what he said about Maghrib. He said: 'And he used to prefer to delay Isha - which you call Atamah - and he used to dislike sleeping before it and talking after it. He would finish the morning prayer when a man could recognize his companion, and he would recite from sixty to one hundred verses.'
