Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: During the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), we used to give one Sa' of food on the day of Eid al-Fitr. Our food was barley, raisins, dried cheese, and dates.

سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے عہد میں عیدالفطر کے دن ایک صاع کھانا (محتاجوں کو) دیا کرتے تھے اور ہمارا کھانا”جو، خشک انگور، پنیر اور کھجور“تھا۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 767]
