Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him), said: I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: "It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah to mourn for any deceased person for more than three days, except for her husband—for whom she should mourn for four months and ten days."
الترجمة الأردية
ام المؤمنین ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا زوجہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکہتی ہیں کہمیں نے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا:”کسی عورت کو جو اللہ تعالیٰ پر ایمان پر رکھتی ہو، یہ جائز نہیں کہ کسی میت پر تین دن سے زیادہ سوگ کرے مگر شوہر پرچار مہینے اور دس دن (سوگ کرنا چاہیے)۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 650]
