Narrated Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him): I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he was (at that time sitting) in the shade of the Ka'bah saying: "By the Lord of the Ka'bah! They are the ones in great loss; by the Lord of the Ka'bah, they are the ones in great loss; by the Lord of the Ka'bah!" I thought (that perhaps the Prophet (peace be upon him) was addressing me), so I said, "What have I done? What deed of mine did you (peace be upon him) see?" Then I sat down, but he (peace be upon him) kept saying the same thing, and I could not stay silent, and Allah alone knows the grief and sorrow that came over me (at that moment). I asked again, "Who are those people, may my mother and father be sacrificed for you?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Those with much wealth, except those who spend it this way and this way and this way (that is, ahead and to the right and to the left in the path of Allah), and they are few."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیںمیں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی خدمت میں گیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم(اس وقت) کعبہ کے سایہ میں (بیٹھے) فرما رہے تھے:”رب کعبہ کی قسم! وہ لوگ بہت ہی نقصان میں ہیں، رب کعبہ کی قسم ہے کہ وہ لوگ بہت ہی نقصان میں ہیں، قسم ہے رب کعبہ کی میں نے (یہ خیال کیا کہ شاید حضورصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممجھ کو فرما رہے ہیں) عرض کی کہ میں نے کیا کیا ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے میرا کون سا ایسا کام دیکھا؟ اور پھر میں بیٹھ گیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلموہی فرماتے رہے اور میں خاموش نہ رہ سکا اور اللہ ہی جانتا ہے جو رنج و غم (اس وقت) مجھ پر طاری تھا۔ میں نے پھر عرض کی کہ وہ کون لوگ ہیں میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان؟ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”زیادہ مال والے، مگر وہ لوگ جو اس طرح اور اس طرح اور اس طرح (یعنی آگے اور دائیں اور بائیں اللہ کے راستے میں) خرچ کریں اور وہ ایسے نہیں ہیں۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2144]
