Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Whenever any of us (the Prophet's wives) was menstruating and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wanted to have physical contact with her, he would order her to put on an izar during the heavy flow of her menstruation, and then he would have physical contact with her (but without intercourse)." Aisha said: "Who among you can control his desire as the Prophet (peace be upon him) could control his?"

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہجب ہم میں سے کوئی بی بی حائضہ ہو جاتی تھی اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس سے اختلاط کرنا چاہتے تو اسے حکم دیتے تھے کہ اپنے حیض (کے زور اور غلبہ) کی حالت میں ازار پہن (باندھ) لے، پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس سے اختلاط کرتے تھے (لیکن مجامعت نہیں فرماتے تھے) ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ تم میں سے اپنی شہوت پر کون اس قدر قابو رکھ سکتا ہے جس قدر نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنی خواہش پر قابو رکھتے تھے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 209]
