The Mother of the Believers, Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked about bit', which is a wine made from honey, and the people of Yemen used to drink it. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Any drink that intoxicates is forbidden."

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بتع کی بابت جو شہد کی شراب ہے، پوچھا گیا اور یمن کے لوگ اس کو پیا کرتے تھے تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”جو شراب نشہ لانے والی ہو وہ حرام ہے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1933]
