Narrated: Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked what the recitation of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was like. He said that he used to recite drawing out (lengthening) the words. Then (Anas (may Allah be pleased with him)) recited "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim," drawing out "Bismillah," and reciting "ar-Rahman" and "ar-Rahim" also drawn out (lengthened).

سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا گیا کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی قرآت کیسی تھی؟ انھوں نے کہا کہ کھینچ کر (لمبا کر کے) پڑھتے تھے پھر (سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے) بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم پڑھی (اس میں) بسم اللہ کو کھینچا اور الرحمن اور الرحیم کو بھی کھینچ کر (لمبا کر کے) پڑھا۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1822]
