Narrated Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her): We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he recited this verse: "that they will not associate anything with Allah," and he forbade us from wailing (over the dead). Then a woman withdrew her hand from the pledge and said, "Such-and-such a woman helped me in wailing; may I repay her (help)?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said nothing. She went and (after wailing) returned, and he (peace be upon him) took her pledge. (That woman was Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) herself.)
الترجمة الأردية
سیدہ ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہہم نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بیعت کی اور یہ آیت کہ:”وہ اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو بھی شریک نہ کریں گی۔“پڑھی اور ہمیں نوحہ کرنے سے منع فرمایا تو ایک عورت نے بیعت کرنے سے ہاتھ کھینچ لیا اور کہا فلاں عورت نے نوحہ کرنے میں میرا ساتھ دیا تھا، میں اس کا بدلہ دے لوں؟ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کچھ نہ فرمایا۔ وہ گئی اور (نوحہ کر کے) پھر آئی اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس سے بیعت لے لی (وہ عورت خود ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا تھیں)۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1788]
