حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْشُدُكَ عَهْدَكَ وَوَعْدَكَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ لَمْ تُعْبَدْ ". فَأَخَذَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِيَدِهِ فَقَالَ حَسْبُكَ. فَخَرَجَ وَهْوَ يَقُولُ {سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ}
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that on the day of Badr, the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared, 'O Allah! I beseech You by Your covenant and Your promise. O Allah! If You will (that these disbelievers prevail), then You shall not be worshipped.' Thereupon Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) took hold of his blessed hand and submitted, 'That is sufficient, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)!' Then the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came out reciting the verse: 'Soon shall the host be routed, and they shall turn their backs in flight' (al-Qamar 54:45).
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے بدر کے دن ارشاد فرمایا: اے اللہ! میں تیرے عہد اور وعدے کا واسطہ دیتا ہوں۔ اے اللہ! اگر تو چاہے (کہ یہ کفار غالب آ جائیں) تو پھر تیری عبادت نہ ہو گی۔ اس پر حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا دست مبارک تھام لیا اور عرض کیا: بس کیجیے یا رسول اللہ! پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم باہر تشریف لائے اور یہ آیت تلاوت فرما رہے تھے: «سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ» (عنقریب یہ جماعت شکست کھائے گی اور پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگ جائے گی)۔
