Hadrat Mujahid (upon him be mercy) narrates: 'Urwa bin al-Zubair and I entered the Mosque of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and found Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) sitting near the chamber of Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha al-Siddiqa (may Allah be well pleased with her). Some people were offering the Duha (forenoon) prayer in the mosque. We asked him about their prayer and he said: "It is an innovation." Then Urwa asked him: "How many times did the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) perform Umrah?" He said: "Four times, one of them in the month of Rajab." We did not wish to contradict him. Then we heard Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be well pleased with her) cleaning her teeth with a miswak in her chamber. Urwa submitted: "O dear mother! O Umm al-Mu'minin! Do you hear what Abu Abdur-Rahman is saying?" She asked: "What does he say?" Urwa submitted: "He says that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) performed four Umrahs, one of them in Rajab." Umm al-Mu'minin declared: "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur-Rahman! The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) never performed any Umrah except that he (Hadrat Ibn Umar) was present with him, and he never performed Umrah in Rajab."
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت مجاہد رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے فرمایا: میں اور عروہ بن حضرت زبیر مسجد نبوی میں داخل ہوئے تو حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے حجرے کے قریب بیٹھے ہوئے تھے اور کچھ لوگ مسجد میں چاشت کی نماز پڑھ رہے تھے۔ ہم نے ان سے ان لوگوں کی نماز کے بارے میں دریافت کیا تو فرمایا: بدعت ہے۔ پھر عروہ نے ان سے عرض کیا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے کتنے عمرے کیے؟ فرمایا: چار عمرے، ان میں سے ایک رجب میں۔ ہم نے ان کی تردید کرنا مناسب نہ سمجھا۔ ہم نے حجرے میں حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے مسواک کرنے کی آواز سنی تو عروہ نے عرض کیا: امّاں جان! اے اُمّ المؤمنین! آپ سن رہی ہیں ابوعبدالرحمٰن کیا فرما رہے ہیں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: کیا فرماتے ہیں؟ عروہ نے عرض کیا: فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے چار عمرے کیے ان میں سے ایک رجب میں۔ اُمّ المؤمنین نے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ ابوعبدالرحمٰن پر رحم فرمائے، نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے جب بھی عمرہ کیا وہ (حضرت ابن عمر) آپ کے ساتھ موجود تھے اور آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے کبھی رجب میں عمرہ نہیں کیا۔
