حَدَّثَنا إبراهيم بن نصر حَدَّثَنا أبو نعيم حَدَّثَنا جعفر بن برقان عن يَزِيد بن الأصم عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قال تظهر الفتن ويكثر الهرج قلنا وما الهرج قال القتل ويقبض العلم قال عمر لم أسمع أبا هريرة يأثره عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أما إن قبض العلم ليس بشيء ينتزع من صدور الرجال ولكنه فناء العلماء تظهر الفتن ويكثر الهرج قلنا وما الهرج قال القتل ويقبض العلم قال عمر لم أسمع أبا هريرة يأثره عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أما إن قبض العلم ليس بشيء ينتزع من صدور الرجال ولكنه فناء العلماء
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibrahim ibn Nasr narrated to us, Abu Nu'aim narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Burqan narrated to us, from Yazid ibn al-Asamm, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: «Tribulations will appear and killing will increase.» We asked: What is al-harj (the killing)? He stated: «Killing.» He also stated: «Knowledge will be seized.» Umar said: I did not hear Abu Hurairah attribute this to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He stated: «The seizing of knowledge is not that it is snatched from the hearts of men, but rather it is the passing away of the scholars.»
