حَدَّثنا عَبدة بن عَبد الله قال أَخْبَرَنَا زيد بن الحباب قال أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ عَبد اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيدة عَن أَبيهِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا قَصْرًا فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ عَرَبِيٍّ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا عَرَبِيٌّ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ قَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قُلْتُ أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَلَوْلا غَيْرَتُكَ لَدَخَلْتُهُ قَالَ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ لَمْ أَكُنْ لأَغَارَ عَلَيْكَوَهَذَا الْكَلامُ قَدْ رُوِيَ بَعْضُهُ عَنِ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم مِنْ وُجُوهٍ ولاَ نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إلاَّ عَنْ بُرَيدة بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abda ibn Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn al-Hubab informed us, he said: al-Husayn ibn Waqid informed us from Abdullah ibn Burayda from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I entered Paradise and saw therein a palace. I said: 'For whom is this?' They said: 'For an Arab man.' I said: 'I am an Arab.' I said: 'For whom is this palace?' They said: 'For a man from the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).' I said: 'I am Muhammad.' Then I said: 'For whom is this palace?' They said: 'For Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).' Were it not for your sense of honor, I would have entered it." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I would never show a sense of honor regarding you." This statement, parts of it have been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) through various routes, but we do not know it with this wording except from Burayda with this chain.
