حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الرُّخَامِيُّ قَالَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْيَحْصِبِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا وَلَكِنِ ائْتُوهَا مِنْ جَوَانِبِهَا ثُمَّ سَلِّمُوا فَإِنْ أُذِنَ لَكُمْ فَادْخُلُوا وَإِلَّا فَارْجِعُوا اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا وَلَكِنِ ائْتُوهَا مِنْ جَوَانِبِهَا ثُمَّ سَلِّمُوا فَإِنْ أُذِنَ لَكُمْ فَادْخُلُوا وَإِلَّا فَارْجِعُوا

Khalaf ibn Hisham narrated to us, he said: Abu Awanah narrated to us from Simak from Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was brought a man who had killed himself with a broad arrowhead. He did not pray over him. This hadith — we do not know of anyone who narrates it from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) except Jabir ibn Samurah with this chain.
