حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يُونُسَ الْأَيْلِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا الْوَجَعَ رِجْزٌ عُذِّبَ بِهِ بَعْضُ الْأُمَمِ فَيَذْهَبُ الْمَرَّةَ وَيَأْتِي الْأُخْرَى فَمَنْ سَمِعَ بِهِ فِي أَرْضٍ فَلَا يَقْدَمْ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ وَقَعَ بِأَرْضٍ هُوَ بِهَا فَلَا يَخْرُجَنَّ فِرَارًا مِنْهُ

'Amr ibn 'Ali narrated to us, he said: Ahmad ibn Shabib informed us, he said: My father narrated to me, from Yunus al-Ayli, from Ibn Shihab, who said: 'Amir ibn Sa'd narrated to me, from Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who said: 'This illness is a punishment with which some nations were afflicted. It goes away at times and returns at others. Whoever hears of it in a land should not go there, and whoever is in a land where it breaks out should not flee from it.'
