حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَشْعَثُ بْنُ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٍ حَتَّى دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ وَفِيهَا خَشَبَةٌ مَعْرُوضَةٌ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ سَأَلْتُهُ كَيْفَ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ تَرَكَ مِنَ الْخَشَبَةِ ثُلُثَيْهَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَصَلَّى فِي الثُّلُثِ الْبَاقِي عَنْ شِمَالِهِ قُلْتُ كَمْ صَلَّى قَالَ لَمْ أَسْأَلْ بِلَالًا

Muhammad ibn Ma'mar narrated to us, he said: Mu'ammal ibn Isma'il informed us, he said: Isra'il informed us, he said: Ash'ath ibn Abi al-Sha'tha' informed us, from his father, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us walking between Usamah ibn Zayd and Bilal until he entered the Ka'bah, where there was a wooden beam placed across. When Usamah ibn Zayd came out, I asked him: 'What did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do?' He said: 'He left two-thirds of the beam to his right and prayed in the remaining third to his left.' I asked: 'How many rak'ahs did he pray?' He said: 'I did not ask Bilal.'
