Abu al-Husayn ibn Bishran informed us in Baghdad... from Abdullah ibn Hubshi that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked: 'Which deeds are best?' He said: 'Faith without doubt, jihad without dishonesty, and an accepted Hajj.' It was asked: 'Which prayer is best?' He said: 'Prolonged standing.' It was asked: 'Which charity is best?' He said: 'The effort of a person of little means.' It was asked: 'Which emigration is best?' He said: 'One who abandons what Allah has forbidden.' It was asked: 'Which jihad is best?' He said: 'One who strives against the polytheists with his wealth and his life.' It was asked: 'Which killing is most noble?' He said: 'One whose blood is shed and whose horse is hamstrung.'
