الترجمة الإنجليزية
Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' narrated that he was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when a man came and entered the mosque and prayed. When he finished his prayer, he came and greeted the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the people. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to him: 'And upon you. Go back and pray, for you have not prayed.' He went back and prayed, and we watched his prayer, not knowing what was wrong with it. When he finished his prayer, he came and greeted the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the people. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Go back and pray, for you have not prayed.' He mentioned this either two or three times. The man said: 'I do not know what you found wrong with my prayer.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The prayer of any of you is not complete until he perfects the ablution as Allah the Exalted has commanded him - washing his face and his hands up to the elbows, wiping his head, and [washing] his feet up to the ankles. Then he should say the takbir and praise and glorify Allah, and recite from the Quran what Allah has permitted him. Then he should say the takbir and bow, placing his palms on his knees until his joints are at rest and he is settled. Then he should say: "Allah hears the one who praises Him," and stand upright until every limb takes its position and he straightens his back. Then he should say the takbir and prostrate, placing his forehead firmly on the ground until his joints are at rest and he is settled. Then he should say the takbir, raise his head, and sit upright on his seat and straighten his back.' He described the prayer like this until he finished. Then he said: 'The prayer of any of you is not complete until he does that.'
