As Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us. Abu Sa'id Ahmad ibn Ya'qub al-Thaqafi narrated to me, Abu Shu'ayb al-Harrani informed us. He said: My father informed me, Isma'il ibn Ulayyah informed us from Ayyub from Muhammad ibn Sirin from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to raise his gaze to the sky when praying, then 'Those who are humble in their prayers' [al-Mu'minun 2] was revealed, and he lowered his head. Hammad ibn Zayd narrated it from Ayyub in mursal form, and that is the preserved version.
