أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الزَّرْقَاءِ ثنا أَبِي ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ ضَرَبَ ابْنًا لَهُ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عِيسَى وَأَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ تَكَنَّى بِأَبِي عِيسَى فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ أَمَا يَكْفِيكَ أَنْ تُكَنَّى بِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَنَّانِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدْمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَإِنَّا فِي جَلِّيَتِنَا فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُكَنَّى بِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ حَتَّى هَلَكَ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us > Muhammad ibn Bakr > Abu Dawud > Harun ibn Zayd ibn Abi al-Zarqa' > his father > Hisham ibn Sa'd > Zayd ibn Aslam > his father: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) struck a son of his who used the kunya Abu Isa. And al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah used the kunya Abu Isa. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'Is it not enough for you to be called Abu Abdullah?' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gave me that kunya.' Umar said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was forgiven his past and future sins, but we are still in our difficulties.' So he continued to be called Abu Abdullah until he died.
