أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ أنبأ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ النَّضْرَوِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أنبأ يُونُسُ وَمَنْصُورٌ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ {الْقَانِعَ وَالْمُعْتَرَّ} [الحج 36] قَالَ الْقَانِعُ الَّذِي يَقْنَعُ لِلرَّجُلِ يَسْأَلُهُ وَالْمُعْتَرُّ الَّذِي يَتَعَرَّضُ وَلَا يَسْأَلُ 19228 قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ سَعِيدٌ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أنبأ مُغِيرَةُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا الْمَارُّ وَالْآخَرُ السَّائِلُ

Abu Nasr ibn Qatadah informed us > al-Abbas ibn al-Fadl al-Nadrawi > Ahmad ibn Najdah > Sa'id ibn Mansur > Hushaym > Yunus and Mansur > al-Hasan, regarding His saying: 'the contented and the suppliant' [al-Hajj 36], he said: 'Al-Qani' is the one who is content when a man asks him, and al-Mu'tarr is the one who presents himself but does not ask.' Sa'id also narrated > Hushaym > Mughirah > Ibrahim said: 'One of them is the passerby and the other is the beggar.'
