أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا صَالَحَ قُرَيْشًا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ اكْتُبْ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ فَقَالَ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو لَا نَعْرِفُ الرَّحْمَنَ الرَّحِيمَ اكْتُبْ بِاسْمِكَ اللهُمَّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ اكْتُبْ بِاسْمِكَ اللهُمَّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ اكْتُبْ هَذَا مَا صَالَحَ عَلَيْهِ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ فَقَالَ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو لَوْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ لَصَدَّقْنَاكَ وَلَمْ نُكَذِّبْكَ اكْتُبِ اسْمَكَ وَاسْمَ أَبِيكَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ اكْتُبْ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَكَتَبَ مَنْ أَتَانَا مِنْكُمْ رَدَدْنَاهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَنْ أَتَاكُمْ مِنَّا تَرَكْنَاهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نُعْطِيهِمْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ مَنْ أَتَاهُمْ مِنَّا فَأَبْعَدَهُ اللهُ وَمَنْ أَتَانَا مِنْهُمْ فَرَدَدْنَاهُ عَلَيْهِمْ جَعَلَ اللهُ ﷻ لَهُ فَرَجًا وَمَخْرَجًا
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made the treaty with Quraysh at al-Hudaybiyyah, he told Ali: Write 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.' Suhayl ibn Amr said: We do not know the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Write: 'In Your name, O Allah.' The Prophet told Ali to write it. Then the Prophet said: Write 'This is what Muhammad the Messenger of Allah has agreed upon.' Suhayl said: If we knew you were the Messenger of Allah, we would have believed you and not fought you. Write your name and your father's name. The Prophet told Ali to write 'Muhammad ibn Abdullah.' It was written: Whoever comes to us from you, we will return him to you, and whoever goes to you from us, you keep him. They said: O Messenger of Allah, shall we give them this? He said: Whoever goes to them from us, may Allah distance him, and whoever comes to us from them and we return him, Allah will make for him a way out.
