أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ غَالِبٍ الْخُوَارِزْمِيُّ الْحَافِظُ بِبَغْدَادَ نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَمْدَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ السَّرِيُّ نا ابْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ يَقُولُ قَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ لِأُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ صَوْتَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ضَعِيفًا أَعْرِفُ فِيهِ الْجُوعَ فَهَلْ عِنْدَكِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَخْرَجَتْ أَقْرَاصًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَتْ خِمَارًا لَهَا فَلَفَّتْ بِهِ الْخُبْزَ بِبَعْضِهِ ثُمَّ دَسَّتْ تَحْتَ يَدِي وَرَدَّتْنِي بِبَعْضِهِ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَتْنِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَذَهَبْتُ بِهِ فَوَجَدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَمَعَهُ النَّاسُ فَقُمْتُ أَوْ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْسَلَكَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ؟ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ الطَّعَامُ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِمَنْ مَعَهُ قُومُوا قَالَ فَانْطَلَقَ وَانْطَلَقْتُ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ حَتَّى جِئْتُ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ قَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ قَدْ جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالنَّاسِ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَنَا مِنَ الطَّعَامِ مَا نُطْعِمُهُمْ قَالَتْ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ حَتَّى لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبُو طَلْحَةَ حَتَّى دَخَلَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَلُمِّي يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ مَا عِنْدَكِ فَأَتَتْهُ بِذَلِكَ الْخُبْزِ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَفُتَّ وَعَصَرَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ عُكَّةً لَهَا فَأَدْمَتْهُ يَعْنِي الْإِدَامَ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَقُولَ ثُمَّ قَالَ ائْذَنْ لِعَشَرَةٍ فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ ائْذَنْ لِعَشَرَةٍ فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا حَتَّى أَكَلَ الْقَوْمُ كُلُّهُمْ وَشَبِعُوا وَالْقَوْمُ سَبْعُونَ أَوْ ثَمَانُونَ 14594 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ نا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَخْتَوَيْهِ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ دَسَّتْ تَحْتَ ثَوْبِي وَرَدَّتْنِي بِبَعْضِهِ

Abu Bakr Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Khuwarizmi al-Hafiz informed us in Baghdad... from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Abu Talhah said to Umm Sulaim: I have heard the voice of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sounding weak; I recognize hunger in it. Do you have anything? She said: Yes. She brought out some barley loaves, then took out her headscarf and wrapped some of the bread in it, then tucked it under my arm and sent me back with the rest. She sent me to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I went with it and found the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the mosque with people around him. I stood up and greeted him. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: Did Abu Talhah send you? I said: Yes. He said: For food? I said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to those with him: Stand up. They set out and I went ahead of them until I came to Abu Talhah and told him. Abu Talhah said: O Umm Sulaim, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has come with people and we do not have enough food to feed them. She said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Abu Talhah went out until he met the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came with Abu Talhah and they entered. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Bring whatever you have, O Umm Sulaim. She brought that bread. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordered it to be broken into pieces, and Umm Sulaim squeezed her butter container over it as a condiment. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said over it whatever Allah willed him to say. Then he said: Let ten people enter. He admitted them and they ate until they were full, then they left. Then he said: Let ten more enter. He admitted them and they ate until they were full. All the people ate until they were satisfied, and they were seventy or eighty people. And Abdullah informed us... with a similar narration except that he said: Then she tucked it under my garment and sent me back with the rest.
