أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ أنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرُونِي أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ كَانَ مِنَ الرَّاسِخِينَ فِي الْعِلْمِ

Abu Tahir the jurist informed us: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Qattan narrated to us: Ahmad ibn Yusuf al-Sulami narrated to us: Ubaydullah ibn Musa informed us: Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid informed us from Abu Ishaq from Masruq who said: I came to Madinah and asked about the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and they informed me that Zayd ibn Thabit was among those firmly grounded in knowledge.
