حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى أُمِّ بُرْثُنٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهَا وَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا تَبَعٌ فَالْيَهُودُ غَدًا وَالنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ.

Bahz told us: Hammam told us: Qatadah told us, from 'Abd al-Rahman, the freed slave of Umm Burthun, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah, Mighty and Majestic, prescribed Friday for those who came before us, but they differed concerning it, and Allah guided us to it. So the people follow us in this: the Jews [observe theirs] tomorrow, and the Christians the day after tomorrow."
