Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Sa'id told us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever leaves behind hoarded wealth [whose due was not paid], it will be represented for him on the Day of Resurrection as a bald venomous serpent with two black spots, following him and pursuing him, saying, 'Woe to you, what are you?' It says, 'I am your treasure which you left behind you.'" He said: "So it forces its mouth into his hand and gnaws it, then goes on to devour the rest of his body."
