حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ فَرُّوخَ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيَّ يَقُولُ تَضَيَّفْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ سَبْعًا فَكَانَ هُوَ وَامْرَأَتُهُ وَخَادِمُهُ يَعْتَقِبُونَ اللَّيْلَ أَثْلَاثًا يُصَلِّي هَذَا ثُمَّ يُوقِظُ هَذَا وَيُصَلِّي هَذَا ثُمَّ يَرْقُدُ وَيُوقِظُ هَذَا قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَيْفَ تَصُومُ قَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَصُومُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ ثَلَاثًا فَإِنْ حَدَثَ لِي حَادِثٌ كَانَ آخِرُ شَهْرِي قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ تَمْرًا فَأَصَابَنِي سَبْعُ تَمَرَاتٍ إِحْدَاهُنَّ حَشَفَةٌ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ شَيْءٌ أَعْجَبُ إِلَيَّ مِنْهَا أَنَّهَا شَدَّتْ مَضَاغِي.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Uthman al-Nahdi said: I was a guest of Abu Hurayrah for seven days. He, his wife, and his servant would divide the night into three parts - one would pray, then wake the other, and that one would pray and then sleep and wake the other. I said: "O Abu Hurayrah, how do you fast?" He said: "As for me, I fast from the beginning of the month three days. If something comes up, I have already completed the last of my month." He also said: I heard Abu Hurayrah say: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) distributed dates among his companions one day, and I received seven dates, one of which was shriveled. Nothing among them was more beloved to me, for it strengthened my chewing."
