حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْجِعِرَّانَةِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَمَعَهُ غُلَامٌ مِنْ سَبْيِ هَوَازِنَ فَقَالَ لَهُ اذْهَبْ فَاعْتَكِفْ فَذَهَبَ فَاعْتَكَفَ فَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ يُصَلِّي إِذْ سَمِعَ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ أَعْتَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْيَ هَوَازِنَ فَدَعَا الْغُلَامَ فَأَعْتَقَهُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Samad and Affan said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Ayyub informed us from Nafi from Ibn Umar that Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) at al-Ji'ranah saying: I had made a vow during the pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyyah) to perform i'tikaf in the Sacred Mosque. Abd al-Samad added: And he had with him a slave from the captives of Hawazin. He said to him: Go and perform i'tikaf. So he went and performed i'tikaf. While he was praying, he heard the people saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has freed the captives of Hawazin. So he called the slave and freed him.
