حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ الْهِلَالَ فَصُومُوا وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ.

Abu Kamil told us, Ibrahim told us, Ibn Shihab told us, from Salim, from Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see the crescent moon, fast, and when you see it again, break the fast; and if it is obscured from you by clouds, then estimate for it.
