حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ya'qub told us: The nephew of Ibn Shihab told us, from his uncle: Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf informed me that Abdullah ibn Umar informed him that a man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the night prayer. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The night prayer is two by two; and when you fear the approach of dawn, then pray witr with one rak'ah.'
