Muawiya ibn Amr told us, he said: Za'ida told us, from al-A'mash, Mujahid told us, who said: Abdullah ibn Umar said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Grant women permission to go to the mosque at night." He said: A son of Abdullah ibn Umar said: "By Allah, we will not grant them permission, lest they use that as a cover for their [illicit] purposes." He said: So Abdullah rebuked him, saying: "Shame on you! I say, 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,' and you say, 'I will not do it'!"
