Hashim told us, al-Layth told us, Nafi' told me, from Abdullah, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "The night prayer is [performed] two by two; so when one of you fears the approach of dawn, let him pray one rak'ah as witr, making the last of his prayer witr."
