Harun told us, Abdullah b. Wahb told us, Usamah b. Zayd informed me, from Nafi', from Abdullah b. Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to invoke curses upon men among the polytheists, naming them by name, until Allah revealed: "You have no say in the matter, whether He turns to them in mercy or punishes them, for indeed they are wrongdoers," so he stopped that.
