حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُعْطِي عُمَرَ الْعَطَاءَ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ عُمَرُ أَعْطِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَفْقَرَ إِلَيْهِ مِنِّي فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُذْهُ فَتَمَوَّلْهُ أَوْ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ وَمَا جَاءَكَ مِنْ هَذَا الْمَالِ وَأَنْتَ غَيْرُ مُشْرِفٍ وَلَا سَائِلٍ فَخُذْهُ وَمَالَا فَلَا تُتْبِعْهُ نَفْسَكَ قَالَ سَالِمٌ فَمِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَا يَسْأَلُ أَحَدًا شَيْئًا وَلَا يَرُدُّ شَيْئًا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ حُوَيْطِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّعْدِيِّ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Ghaylan told us: Rishdin told us: 'Amr ibn al-Harith told me, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah, who told him, from Ibn 'Umar, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to give 'Umar a grant, and 'Umar would say to him, "Give it, O Messenger of Allah, to someone more in need of it than I." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "Take it and make it your property, or give it in charity. Whatever comes to you of this wealth while you are not seeking it out or asking for it, take it; but whatever does not come to you, do not let your soul pursue it." Salim said: For that reason Ibn 'Umar would never ask anyone for anything, nor refuse anything given to him. Yahya ibn Ghaylan told us: Rishdin told us: 'Amr ibn al-Harith told us, from Ibn Shihab, from al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid, from Huwaytib ibn 'Abd al-'Uzza, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Sa'di, from 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, the like of it.
